Getting Started – The Basics
A merchant account is an intermediary account that captures and holds funds generated from Credit Card and Debit Card Sales. From there, they are released to your business’s bank account.
A payment gateway works with your shopping cart to collect payment details from your customers. The gateway securely transmits the card information through our processor and we generate an “approved” or “declined” message in real time. This is how you connect your website, your customer’s payment method and all the involved financial institutions.
PSiGate’s Payment Gateway supports the following payment methods:
- VISA DEBIT
- AMEX US
- AMEX CANADA
- Interac Online
You can accept payments in Canadian and US Dollars.
You can apply online for one of our packages or you can contact us for more details or to build a custom plan.
It usually takes 24-48 hours to review your application. An underwriter will contact you to discuss your application and take you through the next steps in the set up process.
You will need the following documentation:
- Your company’s business registration/license or Articles of Incorporation
- An embossed VOID cheque for a business bank account for each currency you require

Solutions and Pricing
Our approach to pricing is simple. We believe that each business is different and have different needs when it comes to pricing. Our merchant accounts are qualified for eCommerce, so there are no hidden “non-qualified” or “differential fees.” Our Sales Consultants will work with you to develop a pricing model that makes the most sense for your company. With our Virtual Terminal, you can turn any device with an internet connection and a web browser (Desktop, Tablet, Laptop, Mobile Device) into a credit card payment terminal at a fraction of the price of a point-of-sale terminal. Generally, we fund our merchants on a daily or a weekly interval. The funding schedule will be determined by an underwriter based on the nature and model associated with your e-commerce business.
Canadian merchants can use any Canadian bank. We are unable to fund personal accounts. The account must be under your businesses name. US merchants can use any major American bank. Again, the account must be under your businesses name.
